Rome: Con la testa in alto mare – With heads in high seas

Empowering people suffering from mental illnesses and their families

Sailing champion Matteo Miceli will set sail around the world on Sunday 19. He will be sailing solo and with complete food and energy autonomy.

On his 5×1 meter mainsail, Miceli will be promoting one of the activities of our mental health project in Rome: a sailing workshop for persons suffering from a mental illness. This activity is part of our partnership with Fondazione Di Liegro, it aims at unlocking the internal resources of the patients, promote participation and enhance social reinsertion.

On the 19th of October, six of the workshop’s participants will accompany Mr Miceli as he sets sail from Trajan’s Harbor in Rome. He will then start his long journey on board of the Eco40 sailboat.

Needless to say, we are tremendously excited about being part of this event, and cannot but wish Matteo Miceli the best of luck on this adventurous trip around the world!
